LEGAL
Terms of Use
These terms govern your access to and use of the ECU Maps website, accounts, firmware-analysis tools, credits, and downloads.
Last updated: August 4, 2026
Agreement and eligibility
By creating an account or using ECU Maps, you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. You must be legally able to enter into this agreement and provide accurate account information.
The service
ECU Maps analyzes ECU firmware and produces automated map-detection results and WinOLS-compatible exports. Results are a productivity aid and starting point, not a complete mappack, tuning instruction, safety certification, or guarantee of accuracy or fitness for a particular vehicle.
Professional verification
You are responsible for reviewing all detected maps, addresses, axes, dimensions, factors, offsets, units, labels, checksums, and resulting modifications before use. ECU calibration can affect emissions, safety, reliability, warranties, and legal compliance. Use qualified professional judgment and comply with all applicable laws.
Your files and permitted use
- Upload only firmware you own or are authorized to analyze.
- Do not use the service unlawfully, infringe intellectual-property rights, bypass security or usage limits, introduce malicious code, scrape the service, or interfere with other users.
- You retain your rights in submitted files and grant ECU Maps the limited permission needed to process, store, and transmit them to provide and secure the service.
Accounts and security
You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping credentials secure. Notify us promptly of suspected unauthorized access. We may limit, suspend, or terminate accounts that create security risk, misuse the service, violate these terms, or engage in fraud or abusive payment activity.
Credits, payments, and refunds
Credits, pricing, validity periods, and consumption rules are shown at purchase or in the service. One credit may be reserved when an analysis is accepted and consumed after a successful result. Unsupported files and internal processing failures may automatically return the reserved credit. Refund requests are governed by our Refund Policy and mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
Availability and changes
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features and may perform maintenance without guaranteeing uninterrupted availability. We may update these terms and will post the revised version with a new effective date. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
Disclaimers and liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted operation, completeness, or error-free results. ECU Maps is not responsible for vehicle damage, data loss, lost profits, regulatory consequences, or indirect or consequential loss resulting from reliance on unverified output. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or rights that cannot legally be excluded.
Termination and contact
You may stop using the service or close your account at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply. Questions about these terms can be submitted through the ECU Maps Contact page.
